We assisted Taiwanese capital company FinCause, UAB throughout the licensing process of an electronic money institution. The company plans to service EEA businesses and contribute to the further growth of cooperation between EEA and Taiwan by facilitating smooth international payments. The scope of the license will enable the company to provide a broad range of payment services, and, thus, act as the main payments’ partner for its clients.

Our team consisted of Donatas Šliora, Marius Matiukas, Akvilė Avulytė and Gabrielė Tamkevičiūtė. We provided consultation to the client on various corporate legal matters, including shareholding structuring, commercial law, and contract law matters. We also assisted the client in preparing the application for an electronic money institution license, as well as representing the client at the Bank of Lithuania throughout the licensing process.

The announcement of the Bank of Lithuania can be found here.
