Marius Matiukas, lawyer, finance and company law expert as well as lecturer becomes a partner of law firm ADON Legal.

Together with Donatas Šliora, lawyer and founder of ADON Legal, Marius Matiukas takes the helm of the law firm as of December 2021 and plans expanding the scope of services to capital market players, including issuers, investment bankers, secondary market participants and businesses with high funding needs.

Banking law as well as finance and fintech law sector has been humming for the last few years. With tighter compliance regulations, more intense supervision of the Bank of Lithuania, and growing popularity of financial services provided via mobile apps and hybrid services, the demand for this kind of legal services has been growing approximately by 20 percent annually. Such annual growth rates have been observed by the firm back in 2018. Fintech businesses need lawyers who are precise, fast and flexible, who are not only finance law experts but also are well aware of the service provision process itself as well as certain aspects of information technology and ways of integration. Together with Marius we will be able to cover the growing need for financial law services for international and local clients”, – said Donatas Šliora, founder of ADON Legal.

Matiukas’ decision to join ADON Legal was driven by his trust in competence of the firm’s team and opportunities to work on the new generation financial solutions. “Big firms are not as flexible and are not always looking for tailored solutions as much as specialized consultants do whose competences are not limited to legal knowledge alone. I believe that an experienced team with a clear vision can meet customers’ needs way better”, – Matiukas said.

Before joining ADON Legal, lawyer Marius Matiukas worked at the law firm Wint as an Associated Partner and Head of the Financial Practise Group, and prior to that a Lawyer at Auga Group, has also worked for the European Investment Bank and law firm TGS Baltic.

Marius Matiukas teaches Legal Regulation of Financial Markets at Vilnius University, specializes in banking and finance law as well as company law. Among the companies Matiukas has delivered advice to throughout his professional career are the following: the SEB bank, Swedbank, Hypo, European Investment Bank, investment company BaltCap, Klaipėdos Nafta, Maxima Grupė, GALIO GROUP, Monetha, Brolis Semiconductors, Auga Group, Mezzanine Management and others.
